Shannondale
Retirement Center Offers Monthly Rental Plans, Membership Fee Plans
and Full Health Care Programs. You may select either a monthly
rental
plan or the
membership fee plan at Shannondale Retirement Center. A selected
number of single
rooms, efficiency and one-bedroom apartments are available on a
monthly basis with no prior
membership payment. All plans have the same basic daily services.
Three tempting meals
served each day are prepared in our own kitchens and served restaurant
style at your table in
a beautiful, spacious dining room.Varied social, spiritual, and
cultural activities at no extra
cost add to the personal care you receive at Shannondale.
A nurse is on duty 24 hours
a day and a physician is available weekly. Optional
lifetime health care benefits provide
complete access to Shannondale Health
Care Center, a 200-bed skilled nursing
facility located immediately adjacent to
the Retirement Center.

Activities
For your enjoyment, crafts instruction, art classes and exhibits, decorating
and gardening; bridge and related
games, shuffleboard and croquet; lectures, movies, slides, travelogues,
and educational films as varied as the content
of the University film library; vocal and instrumental soloists and ensembles
from the city symphony, the U.T.
music department and by some of the area’s best choral groups;
a room full of well selected books which are
replenished regularly; scheduled exercise sessions; Sunday and midweek
worship services led by visiting ministers
as well as Shannondale’s chaplain’s resident-planned devotional
groups and parties. A pleasing and personal
enrichment is certain with a high level of participation in the many
and varied programs encouraged by the
activities director.

Complete maintenance with weekly housekeeping services including
linen changes; beautician, barber, manicurist, podiatrist and seamstress
visits;
hand-rails, night lights and emergency call buttons; sundries shop,
personal
items, postage, checks cashed; own laundry or outside pick-up service;
transportation to shopping centers, doctor and dental appointments,
and
more.
Basic Admission Information
An applicant or married couple may enter at age 62 or older. Residents
must be in reasonably good health-as certified by a medical examination
before entering - and able to care for their own personal needs.
